About me

I’m Ivan Marić, a system administrator with over five years of hands-on experience in building and maintaining secure, reliable, and efficient IT environments. I was born and raised in Zagreb, Croatia, and spent part of my life in Munich, Germany, where I completed my education and earned my degree as a Computer Science Expert. Today, I’m back in Zagreb, continuing my professional journey from my hometown.

Throughout my career, I’ve worked on a wide range of projects within the Microsoft ecosystem – from managing Windows Server environments, Active Directory, Group Policy, Exchange, Azure, and Microsoft 365, to automating tasks through PowerShell scripting. I also have solid experience with virtualization technologies such as Hyper-V, VMware, and XenServer, and I regularly support and optimize client systems running Windows 10 and 11.

IT security is one of my core areas of interest. I routinely implement system hardening, conduct penetration testing, and follow best practices based on standards like TISAX, a framework similar to ISO 27001, which I’ve worked with directly in real-world environments.

Outside of Microsoft technologies, I enjoy working with Linux-based systems, especially Ubuntu, Debian, and Kali Linux. I’m also the creator and administrator of my own website: sys4win.com, where I share insights and experiences from the field.

One thing I truly enjoy is sharing knowledge. I once led a Wireshark workshop for over 50 engineers — a great opportunity to combine theory with hands-on analysis and network troubleshooting.

Driven by curiosity and a passion for technology, I’m always learning, improving, and open to new ideas. If you’re interested in working together or simply want to connect — feel free to reach out!
